The history
A tradition of innovation
Taster Wine A/S was founded by Fritz Paustian Senior on July 1, 1946. It all began with import licenses for Hungarian wine. The young Fritz Paustian, armed with import licenses and an indomitable spirit, faced the challenging task of transporting wine through post-war Europe's labyrinth.
In a time when wine was a rarity and demand was high, it was not the sale but the transportation that posed the greatest obstacle. With ingenuity, innovation, and creativity, Fritz Paustian found a solution in an unusual ally: the Red Cross.
By utilizing empty trucks returning from humanitarian missions in Hungary, he ensured that the first Hungarian wines reached Denmark, laying the foundation for Taster Wine A/S.
Over the years, Taster Wine A/S has evolved from a bold dream to a bastion of quality wine and innovation. With a history spanning decades and a future promising even more, we stand strong as one of the largest and most respected wine and spirits groups in Denmark.

Dedication through generations
The leadership of Taster Wine A/S is now in the hands of Fritz Paustian Senior's sons, brothers Ole and Fritz Paustian. With support from the third generation, they skillfully and dedicatedly manage the company's daily operations.
This new generation has adeptly and with great vision continued the rich legacy inherited from their father. Their efforts have cemented Taster Wine's position as Denmark's most prominent privately-owned and independent wine and spirits group.
