Gløgg – a Nordic winter tradition
Gløgg is closely associated with Christmas, winter and the aroma of warm spices. At Taster Wine, it is also a product category in which we have extensive experience.
We produce and supply significant volumes of gløgg to customers across Denmark, Scandinavia and Europe – both under our own brands and as private label solutions for retailers and professional customers.
From traditional red gløgg to new variations and tailor-made concepts, we work with the entire process from product development and production to bottling and delivery.
Our own gløgg
Our gløgg is inspired by the classic Nordic tradition: a warm, rich and aromatic drink made for the colder months of the year.
Wine, sweetness and traditional winter spices combine to create the characteristic flavour associated with Scandinavian Christmas.
Serve warm with raisins and almonds for a traditional Nordic experience.

What is gløgg?
Gløgg is the Nordic version of mulled wine. Traditionally, wine is heated together with sugar and spices such as cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and citrus.
In Scandinavia, gløgg is often served with raisins and almonds. Similar traditions can be found throughout Europe – including German Glühwein and British mulled wine.
The history of gløgg
The tradition of heating and flavouring wine is much older than the modern Christmas drink. Spiced wines were known in medieval Europe, while hot wine has been consumed in Scandinavia since at least the 17th century.
The word gløgg originates from the Swedish expression “glödgat vin”, meaning heated wine. Over time, the term evolved into glögg and the Danish and Norwegian spelling gløgg.
During the 19th century, the drink became increasingly associated with winter and Christmas, eventually becoming one of the most recognisable Nordic seasonal traditions.
